Support Coordination under the NDIS is divided into three levels, each providing different degrees of support based on the participant's needs.

Level 1: Support Connection


Services Include:

  • Assistance in understanding the NDIS and identifying relevant services.

  • Connecting participants with appropriate mainstream, community, and funded supports.

  • Encouraging self-management of the plan over time.

Best Suited For: Participants who need minimal help navigating the NDIS and have the potential to manage their supports independently after some initial guidance.


Level 2: Coordination of Supports


Services Include:

  • Coordinating complex service arrangements across multiple providers.

  • Problem-solving and addressing barriers in service delivery.

  • Monitoring progress and ensuring the participant is achieving their NDIS goals.

  • Assisting with plan reviews and exploring new service options as needed.

Best Suited For: Participants with more complex needs who require ongoing help to coordinate their supports, navigate the system, and resolve issues that arise with service delivery.


Level 3: Specialist Support Coordination


Services Include:

  • Managing crisis situations and high-risk scenarios.

  • Developing more robust support plans with in-depth coordination.

  • Assisting participants with complex, multifaceted needs that require the involvement of multiple services, such as health, justice, and housing.

  • Collaborating with other professionals, like therapists and case managers, to manage complex support environments.

Best Suited For: Participants who are experiencing high levels of complexity in their lives (e.g., mental health challenges, homelessness, or legal issues) and require a high level of oversight and coordination to maintain stability.
